Summer Mission Trips

A mission trip in your own backyard.

In summer of 2024, we are thrilled to announce the return of our youth mission trip program!

This eight-day experience for teens in grades 8+ aims to introduce youth to the spiritual practice of giving back to our comunities in possitive ways. Youth will live in a hosting church for the length of the program, while volunteering in the local community, eating and praying together, and deepending their faith.

Hosted in partship with Rev. Michiko Bown-Kai and Western Ontario Waterways Regional Council, GO is offering a weekend to retreat in nature this Spring for high-school students.

Come to Five Oaks Education and Retreat Centre to rest and recharge in nature, make new friends, pray, eat, and more.

Dates: April 19th – 21st, 2024

Location: Five Oaks Education and Retreat Centre (Paris, Ontario)

Cost: $50 per person (scholarships available)

A Spring time nature retreat for teens.

UCCan Climate Motivators

A summer internship for young climate activists in the church.

In partnership with the General Council of The United Church of Canada, The Climate Motivators program aims to support the vision of climate justice and youth involvement of the UCC.

Each motivator will work on a climate justice project related to a personal passion of theirs in partnership with a sponsoring community of faith. Motivators must choose a project within one of these four UCC climate response areas: Raising our Spirited Voices; Responding to Climate Impacts; Getting Our House in Order; and Reconnecting with Creation.

The program and employment will begin July 8th and run until August 30th. Motivators will be supported and encouraged to attend Rendez-vous: Audacious Hope July 3rd – 6th in St. Catharine ON. Following Rendez-vous, Motivators will attend a week of in-person orientation and training at Five Oaks Education & Retreat Centre, Paris ON, July 8th – 13th.

In partnership with the General Council of the United Church of Canada, The Youth Forum Leadership Animators program aims to support the centennial celebrations if the UCC across Canada, and offer leadership to the planning and implementation of Youth Forum at GC45 (2025.)

The Leadership Animator will be employed for an 8-week term in the summer of 2024. Their work will include liaising with a regional office and local congregations, team meetings, leadership development, and event planning for local churches. The Animators will, at times, work remotely and will need capacity for online communication and learning.

UCCan Leadership Animators

A summer intership for young leaders in the church.
