Help us to inspire children and youth to create change!
This year, due to current COVID-19 restrictions and uncertainty about what the summer months may bring, the delivery of our programming will be different. We are planning to continue to offer a fulfilling – and fun – GO experience to children but we will do so as safely as possible which means offering a virtual rather than in-person camp.
We will offer two one-hour “live” online sessions with campers each day supplemented by optional offline activities related to the themes of the day which, will be social justice oriented and local in nature.
Camps will be available to host communities – with leaders creating a program just for their community, as well as a general program each week that children from across the country can join!
The GO Project Children’s Adventure Camps are our fastest growing programs yet! For 5 days, participants and youth leaders engage in fun, meaningful activities in their communities and learn about how they are being called into action in their own lives.
Activities may include visiting a food bank, meal program, senior’s residence, conservation authority, or many other options depending on the local host community. Throughout the time in community, the participants are having fun playing games, making crafts, creating relationships and engaging in various stories of action throughout Scripture.
Ages of the participants are going into grade 2 to finishing grade 7, unless specifically stated. In order to maintain a reasonable leader:participant ratio, each program requires teen volunteers from the host community for the week depending on the number of participants.
Our programs are divided into geographical locations based on United Church of Canada Conferences: Chinook Winds, Northern Sprit, Saskatchewan, London, Hamilton, Toronto, and the Maritimes. Please look at each page and see where we are hosting programs within those locations – most are outside of the cities named.
We are still confirming 2019 programs. If your community is interested in hosting a Children’s Adventure Camp, read the Intro Package and contact our Program Director at bailey@thegoproject.ca
