Announcing Summer 2020
Due to physical distancing requirements across the country, The GO Project has decided to run virtual camp for the summer of 2020 instead of in-person camp. We know that some provinces in Canada will allow for day and overnight camps by the time July approaches, but for the safety of our staff and continuity of our cross-Canada programming we will focus just on virtual offerings this year.
Now more than ever, we need to find community and know we are not alone. We need to gather and share our feelings, dreams and fears in safe ways.
How will it work?!
What a great question! (ha ha)
This is just as much a learning curve for us as it is for everyone. We are learning as we go. From our 10 weeks of virtual Spring camp, we learned a lot about what activities work best in the virtual format and times of day work for different age groups. We also acknowledge that the times chosen will not be ideal for every part of the country – and we are sorry! We are working on very limited staff to deliver programs this summer and need to balance all the programs together.
We are honouring the weeks booked by our host communities as camp for their community – uniquely designed to their needs and context. On the weeks that we don’t have a host week booked we will run an “Open Program” for children from any community across the country to join.
Format: Everyday @ 9am EST & 3pm EST
Cost: $40 per week
Age: Grades 1-7
We will host a drop-in program every Wednesday @ 11amEST for all those children who want to participate in camp, but aren’t a part of the hosting weeks community.
Cost: $10 per drop-in, or $75 for all 9 weeks.
We will host three sessions this summer, two-weeks in length each.
Session #1: June 28th – July 9th, 2020
Session #2: July 12th – 23rd, 2020
Session #3: July 26th – August 6th, 2020
Rendezvous: August 11th – 14th, 2020
Session #4: August 16th – 27th, 2020
Format: Every weekday @ 10:30am – 12:00pm EST & 7pm – 8:30pm EST + 1 weekend session
Cost: $250 for 12 days
Age: Grades 8+
We will host a drop-in program every Thursday @ 6pmEST for all youth who can’t commit to a full program because of work, or other commitments but want to check-in as a part of the community.
Cost: $10 per drop in or $70 for all 8-weeks
